Can a river really support Egyptians, better yet- anybody!?

Even though the Nile is just a river, its a river the provides nutrient rich water, that helps with food. Transportation,  and power.  Paper was also made from papyrus water reed which grew on the banks of the Nile River. So it's pretty obvious that the people of Egypt depended on the Nile! And that is was a natural resource to the Egyptians! The water from the Nile enables farmers to grow clover, wheat and beans in the winter. Cotton, corn, millet and rice in the summer.
