The green oasis amid a desert region with little rainfall. People live along the banks of the river, also called the valleys. People of Egypt learned about the country of Egypt by studying the great artifacts of the Nile River. People started settling along the Nile in about 5500 B.C. living in the valleys made it easier to get crops because of the wet Nile. They could easily get what they needed to survive.
